MELBOURNE FILMOTECA, your thought-provoking Latinamerican, Portuguese and Spanish film group,
present the true story of thirteen women that were unfairly accused for being part of the riots against Franco in 1940. |

| Set in the Civil War period The 13 Roses is based on a true story of thirteen ordinary women that were accused for being part of the riots and rebellions against Franco in Spain in 1940. They were condemned without any proof of their guilt and this absurdly
tragic event led to cruel treatment in prison and finally their unfair execution. |
